The Vital Might Signs with 10T Records for Release of “Red Planet”
Friday, July 10th, 2009 by 10TRecords210T Records is proud to announce the pending release of the new full length CD release by The Vital Might, entitled “Red Planet” on August 18, 2009.
Charging onto the world stage from their strategic bunker in Boston (USA), The Vital Might (Rick Gauthier: bass/vocals, Andy Milk: vocals/guitar, Evan Kraker: drums/vocals) are poised to conquer and destroy the modern Indie and Progressive Rock landscape. On their second full length CD release, “Red Planet,” the band’s unique sonic palette is on full display with a winning mixture of hard-hitting melody and monster chops that doesn’t shy away from mixing pop rock with metal, funk with prog, and good old fashioned songwriting with psychedelic breaks.
Although the music on “Red Planet” has been compared to such modern trailblazers as Radiohead, The Mars Volta, and A Perfect Circle, the music on “Red Planet” showcases a band that has fully come into its own as a powerful new voice that will soon be exerting its own influence on the
modern progressive rock scene. “Red Planet” is a celestial story of love, loss, and heroism that weaves its yarns through thunderous beats, echoing guitars, and soaring vocals.
“The band calls it a “sci-fi mafia love story.” This critic calls “Red Planet,” the heady sophomore CD from Boston’s Vital Might, a dramatic rock throw-down that blows away expectations – smart, heavy, and imaginative.”
